I've
been making jewelry with beads since I was a little kid and as I've
moved to larger cities with access to better materials and classes, my
abilities have grown.
I love making jewelry
for all the women in my life (ahem, that includes me). After a while,
people started commissioning pieces and had friends asking where they
got their earrings, so I figured, hey, maybe I should try and sell
this?
My
style is simple but not boring. I could wear this to work or wear it
out on a Saturday night. Some of it speaks to my preppy side and some
of it to the edgy side. I get inspiration primarily from other women. I
love it when someone comes to me with a dress and says, "help, I need
earrings for this."
I recently traveled
around the world and collected beads in every country. I got a lot of
inspiration from those materials and what women (and men) are wearing
around the globe.
I also come up with ideas when I find myself with no jewelry to wear
with a certain outfit. I've spent many a Saturday designing something
for me to wear with a new dress that night.
